There is Only One All-Inclusive Resort in St. Barts. But Why?

Just like Megatron Griffin is commonly referred to as Meg Griffin, this tiny French-speaking Caribbean island, Saint Barthélemy, is commonly called St. Barts. And it’s a lovely choice for a high-class vacation (St. Barts, not Meg Griffin). That is why many celebrities like Rihanna or ultra-rich people like Jeff Bezos come to stay here on weekends. Privacy, beautiful nature and climate, stunning sunsets, and incredible service – St. Barts all-inclusive resorts to have it all here. Or, to be more precise, their only all-inclusive resort. But about that, a tad later.
St. Barts is often called an oasis of relaxation due to its climate, weather conditions, and stunning ocean views. There are plenty of sunny days during the year with a temperature varying between 22 and 30°C (74 to 86°F). Enjoy your sunny days and relax in crystal clear ocean water that never drops below 26°C (79°F). It’s a luxurious blend of European sophistication, the beauty of Caribbean nature, and relaxed island vibes. Whenever you decide to go to St. Barts, you’ll spend unforgettable holidays and appreciate each moment of your vacation.
This place is perfect for sailing around the Caribbean, so you can choose a half-day or a full-day cruise or watch the sunset from a catamaran with a glass of champagne in your hand. Doesn’t it sound like a perfect plan for a weekend in St. Barthelemy’s 5-star all-inclusive resort?! But unlikely the other popular tourist destinations, like popular all-inclusive hotels in Tokyo, Japan, here you won’t find any place to offer a full range of services included in the price.
Yes, it’s true: if you are looking for St. Barts Island all-inclusive resorts, you won’t find many of them, as this place does not offer any “traditional” all-inclusive packages. At the same time, most of the hotels in St. Barts have the banner of “luxury”, so it won’t be hard to find a perfect place for a honeymoon or a family vacation with excellent service. I’ve gathered them together, and below you’ll find some top-rated 5-star St. Barts hotels and experiences.
Overview of the Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa

Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa is the only hotel in St. Barts that offers an all-inclusive deal. But even then, it should probably have an asterisk with smaller text at the end of the page saying “terms and conditions apply”. Located on a perfect white-sand Grand Cul-de-Sac beach, this 5-star hotel has everything to become the best all-inclusive St. Barts resort. The hotel is refined and fresh, as elegant and refreshing as its amazing beachfront location.
Its interior was created by a French designer Sybille de Margerie, and now it’s filled with timeless European elegance. One can see here a high concentration of what is called Parisian chic style, and now it is filled with its philosophy of human-centred service. All Le Barthelemy guests will receive real couture hospitality, offering packages and solutions as unique as they are. So it won’t be a typical St. Barts all-inclusive vacation with a basic range of services and a buffet breakfast included. Here you’ll receive an unforgettable and undoubtedly unique experience.

The motto of the hotel’s team is: “Your Home away from Home”. Le Barthelemy Hotel & Spa belongs to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, and is named one of the best resorts in the world by Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. It offers 44 spacious rooms and suites, composed of natural materials, bathed in light, and equipped with a terrace. Many suites have private pools or jacuzzis for your comfort and another thing to brag about among your friends. If you are looking for total privacy, take a look at one of two adjacent full-service luxury villas – Villa Bleu and Villa Aqua, located steps from the beach with a separate area. During your stay here, enjoy the seaside infinity pool or spend the day relaxing in Le Barthélemy Spa zone.
The price for the cheapest room starts from almost a thousand euros per night (for Le Barth Jardin suite with a terrace and a King-size bed). I guess, now you understand why the rich and famous like visiting this island: your regular Joe can’t afford a proper vacation with such prices. By the way, be ready to pay in euros since the island is technically part of France, even though it is not a member of the EU. The price per villa starts from over 6400€. It includes 6 bedrooms with private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, direct access to the beach, and a 55-foot swimming pool. Both villas may be rented as one unit if you need to create a private residence of 12 bedrooms and enjoy your signature benefits included.

Dining at the resort

Your food experience at the hotel starts with a signature restaurant, Amis St. Barth, which offers island-inspired French cuisine. With all its elegance, it provides both signature and modern dishes, including starters, desserts, and main courses with Mediterranean accents and the chic ambiance of the French Riviera. Spend your time here with bare feet facing the bay. A wide range of wines and classic champagne will complete your lunch. Dinner will be in a bit more formal, fancier environment in the Abyss restaurant. And if you want your evening to go on, then you should visit its Sever Stars Bar, the place for live music and cocktails. So if you are looking for St. Barts all-inclusive honeymoon offers, you’d choose this unique hotel with the highest service level you can get on the island.

Unfortunately, that was the only all-inclusive option on the island. But there are plenty of other nice places to stay for a visit! And some of them are a little bit more affordable for a family. For example, another top-rated hotel in St. Barth is Salines Garden Cottages. Located close to St. Barthelemy’s finest Salines beach, this complex consists of five cottages, each decorated in the spirit of a different destination.
The owners of the hotel are into surfing and have been all over the globe looking for the best waves. In Salines Garden, they gathered together all their travel memories to give them fresh breath in 5 cottages named after the famous surfing destinations on five different continents: Essaouira, Pavones, Padang Padang, Cap Ferret, and Waikiki.
Each cottage has a private terrace, perfect for sunbathing or enjoying a quiet moment among palm trees and magnificent exotic flowers. Three of them have a kitchenette so that you can have a morning cup of coffee or a simple breakfast in your bed. Or if you want to have a real local experience, there are a few supermarkets within a 5-minute drive. Wouldn’t it be fun to make a dinner from the local ingredients together with your family or friends? Two other cottages are without a kitchenette, but still as cosy and well-designed as the others. And just in case, there are two restaurants within walking distance, and even more within a 10-minute drive.

You can choose your cottage by choosing a vibe of the place it represents: either it would be a romantic setting with the typical interior decor of Bali in Padang Padang Cottage, or a sun-drenched atmosphere in Waikiki Cottage. All Salines Garden cottages are equipped with the following amenities and services:
- Fan and air conditioning to stay cool during the hottest days
- Safe to keep all your valuables, or just look at it since no one uses them anyway
- Bathroom with a set of welcome package natural cosmetics
- Hair-dryer for your comfort, but in all honesty, just let it dry naturally for once
- Beach towels so that you can enjoy your time lying in the sun
- A terrace for watching beautiful sunsets while sipping on your favourite drink
- The most important meal of the day: continental breakfast, included
- Transfer from the port or airport, so you don’t get lost and end up in Rome, since “All roads lead to Rome”
And if you want to do some activities during your stay, there are plenty of things to do nearby: from all kinds of surfing and fishing, to horse-riding and spa. Maybe this time you want to try something new during your vacation? I strongly encourage you to do so!
If you compare this option to the all-inclusive one, you will notice how much cheaper it is. Cottages have three different price ranges based on the season you are coming in for. Beginning of April to mid-December will be the cheapest option, starting from around 200€ per cottage (add 20€ if you want a kitchenette). From December 20th to the 5th of January, you will be in the “Festive season”, which is a bit trickier: prices are available upon request. That basically means that you should be prepared to pay more during the holidays when the demand is way above the supply on this small island. The rest of the year is high season, with cottage prices being around 300€, depending on your choice (40€ more expensive with a kitchenette). Breakfast is always included in the price, and transfer is included too if you provide the time of arrival upon booking your cottage.

Hotel Christopher

Another luxurious option to stay in St. Barth is Hotel Christopher, with the biggest clifftop pool on the island. It combines a high-rated location and celebrity treatment with world-class service. Like pretty much all of the hotels on this luxurious island, to be honest. But its main feature is the freshwater infinity swimming pool area that overlooks the ocean. It will look fabulous on your Instagram page, trust me. This hotel has it all to be a top-rated place in St. Barthelemy. Decorated with a hint of Parisian style, its 42 spacious rooms have everything to make your nights as relaxing as possible. For bigger groups, the hotel offers four villas. And what about the facilities included in your accommodation?
- Each room has satellite TV
- Welcome minibar
- Your private bathroom comes with a hairdryer, bathrobes, and bath amenities
- 24-hour reception and room service
- Spa by Sisley and wellness centre for hotel guests only
- Both children and small pets are welcome without additional payment for staying
- Breakfast options: buffet, continental, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, Italian, American
Restaurant Christopher Coutanceau is where you will be enjoying your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Christopher Coutanceau is a chef who is known for his 3-star Michelin restaurant in La Rochelle, France. The restaurant on the island doesn’t have any stars, though. So, expect fine dining in a somewhat relaxed atmosphere. And that’s for the best: you are here to enjoy your free time, not to think about how to dress up.
If you plan a couple’s trip and look for an all-inclusive package at adults-only resorts, at first glance, you might be disappointed that there are no such places on the island. That can be explained by St. Barth’s overall small size and capacity, so they are trying to appeal to all kinds of guests and be more inclusive. Another thing, there are plenty of villas, so you can always choose one of the secluded ones and enjoy your privacy like a rock star. You can also check out Le Toiny Hotel & Beach Club or Cheval Blanc St-Barth, but beware, they aren’t cheap either. Wherever you choose to stay, you’ll have a quite nice location with many accessible beaches, lots of restaurants, bars, and a few nightclubs. So you can always choose the way you’ll enjoy your vacation time and schedule some activities with your partner or friends.
Do you want your vacation to be full of activities and new experiences? Worry not, there are plenty of things to do at St. Barts. But even then, you will probably want to spend most of the time on the island’s beautiful beaches. If you go to Saint-Jean in the north, Plage de Saline in the south, Petit Cul-de-Sac in the east, and Colombier in the west, you will basically see the whole island while spending time on its beaches. Colombier also offers a nice trail for those who enjoy hiking. Here’s a list of what you can do while vacationing in Saint Barthélemy:
- Check out the scuba diving center Lily Blue Caraïbes. You can choose to have your under-the-sea experience during morning hours or around sunset.
- Feeling like a pirate? Enjoy your time sailing on a boat with Sailin Soun. Or go with your friends on a catamaran adventure with St Barth Excursions Yacht Charter. Arrr, a pirate’s life for me!
- Surfing, windsurfing, kayaking, small catamaran, paddle boards, or wing foil? Caribwaterplay got you covered! You can either rent equipment if you know how to do everything, or take private lessons. In either case, it will be fun!
- If you feel like spending money on shopping at luxury brands, the island’s capital, Gustavia, is the place to be! Who knows, maybe while checking Louis Vuitton store you will meet a celebrity! And when you get hungry, stop by the seafood restaurant Fish Corner or the Thai restaurant Black Ginger.
- For sightseeing, go to Morne du Vitet, the highest mountain peak with a breathtaking panoramic view. Don’t forget to check the fortress, Fort Karl, and a historic church Église de Lorient de Saint-Barthélemy.
Explore the central area of St. Barts – the best place for shopping or seasonal cultural activities. You’ll find a boutique area here to buy everything you need. The one thing is that your stay in St. Barts will never be in economy class. So if you want to have a family trip, you should take a look at other travel destinations with the best all-inclusive resorts. Sayulita, Mexico is a popular one, a favourite surfing destination with delicious food and rich culture. Enjoy your time, explore the flavours and fashions, and feel the features of this place. But if you are not scared of overspending, and it will for sure happen on St. Barts, come and see it for yourself!
You may visit St. Barts just once or several times in a row, but you’ll always find something new to explore. Like in Peru vacations all-inclusive with a myriad of activities, here you will enjoy the beauty of nature, which is never the same.
So if you want to spend time with your family and have a full activity schedule for everyone, don’t be upset that there are no St Barts all-inclusive family resorts. While planning your trip, ask your agent to help you and match your desires and needs to the things that the island has to offer. Or follow my guide as a starting point 🙂 If you start planning your trip early, you will get the most suitable package, and at the same time, you won’t be limited by one place to stay, so you can explore either this place or even several Caribbean islands for just one or two weeks. Instead, you may choose whether you want to stay at boutique hotels or private villas that make this island a natural magnet for ordinary tourists and movie stars. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?
