Best Things to Do in Guam. All-Inclusive Resorts & More

What do you know about Guam? Probably not too much, unless you are a very experienced traveler who prefers visiting new places far away from home. This pretty remote tropical destination is the largest and also the southernmost island of the Mariana Islands archipelago in the western Pacific Ocean. Good news for travellers from the USA: Guam is a U.S. territory, which means there is no need to stress about the visa.
Guam is loved by tourists for its warm white sand beaches and bright, clear ocean waters, as well as its wild, exotic nature and authentic Guam Chamorro culture. The most beautiful beaches here are Tumon Beach, Ritidian Point, and Gun Beach.

The Mariana Islands archipelago has a long history and vibrant culture. The islands were first discovered by Ferdinand Magellan, who arrived there on March 6, 1521. But their traditional culture, known as Chamorro culture, is much older – we can count it by over thousands of years. Despite different historical periods, including wars, Spanish, American, and Japanese invading conquerors, it survived and became even more unique.
The best time to visit Guam
What is the best season to visit Guam? Due to its tropical climate, there is a high chance of heavy rain throughout most of the year. The hottest months here are May, June, and November. The daily average temperature during this time can reach 88°F (31°C). But you should also remember that it isn’t all about the temperature. Higher temperatures in Guam will affect tourists much more at higher humidity, and colder temperatures will feel piercing cold because of the added strong winds.
As per usual in a tropical climate, you won’t feel a big difference in temperatures all year, but there’s a dry and rainy season to account for. The rainy season in Guam starts at the end of June and lasts till the end of November. Then the dry season comes, and it runs approximately from mid-December to June. During these months, the humidity goes lower while the temperature during the day becomes moderately higher.
If you are looking for all-inclusive trips to Guam, the price ranges from $200 to $350 per person per night. Tourist season in Guam starts in January and lasts all the way till June, with February being one of the busiest months. Prices for the best all-inclusive resorts in Guam and nearby, as well as flights, will be much higher during these months, so you should book everything in advance if you want to save on your trip.
The low tourist season here is in December – you’ll find it the least expensive month, but you should also double-check the weather forecast if you want to avoid rain during your vacation.
So, if you are looking for the best time to visit Guam, you want it to be during the dry season, but not in the most expensive months. In that case, you should probably consider the second half of December. But if you want to save more and you are not afraid of rain, check out May or October.
If your vacation schedule doesn’t meet the weather conditions in Guam, then you’d better have a look at other tropical islands. For example, the Dominican Republic with its spectacular beaches. Although it also has a tropical climate, even during the wetter months, there are usually plenty of perfect sunny days and any rainfall comes in heavy showers lasting for only 10-15 minutes. If this is a place where you’ll spend your next vacation, then you should check for top-rated all-inclusive hotels in La Romana, one of the favourite tourist destinations.
How to get there and where to stay?
This tropical island is a perfect place to visit for both families and honeymooners. With a wide range of marine activities, everyone will find the best way to spend time and relax. Getting here is quite fast and convenient: there are many direct flights to Guam from different cities in Hawaii, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines, while the average flight time to your final destination point is about 4 hours. As the island is small, it will be super-easy for you to get from the airport to any of the all-inclusive resorts in Guam.
So if you’ve chosen Guam as the destination for your next vacation, you’ll have different but rather limited options to stay on the island. Guam’s premier resort destination is Tumon Bay, where the most luxurious hotels and resorts are located. You can, of course, also find stunning vacation packages both in the central and southern parts of the island. Guam all-inclusive resorts offer a wide range of fun activities to do, but if you want classics, you can always stay at chain-branded hotels here, like Hilton, Hyatt Regency, or Holiday Inn. Just remember, it might get pricey to pay at the restaurants in those hotels. If you travel for business, you can choose one of the hotels located in Maite, Hagatna, Mangilao, or Tamuning.
How long should you stay in Guam? That depends on the things you want to do in Guam or the nearby islands. If you want to relax on the beach or by the pool in your hotel area, drink cocktails, and get rid of city life problems, you may book your accommodation for a longer stay, up to two weeks. But if you don’t want to use all the advantages of an all-inclusive vacation and explore everything Guam offers, one week is plenty. Especially if you will be travelling to other places.
What are the best things to do in Guam?
If you think that staying by the pool with a cold drink is boring, and you also want to explore local nature, food, and culture, here’s the list of the 5 best things to make your vacation much more memorable:
1. Stunning beaches
Tumon Beach is the most famous of Guam’s many beautiful beaches. But not the only one – if you like something more secluded, the island has other blissful and easily accessible beaches to explore. Talofofo is worth a look for its unusual black and green sand, while Ritidian Beach and Gun Beach offer natural beauty away from the tourist flow.
2. Two Lovers' Point
This is the most iconic Instagram spot in Guam, offering viewpoints for breathtaking pictures and views of the Philippine Sea over a plunging cliff face.

3. Chamorro Village Market
An excellent way to experience the ancient traditions of Guam’s original inhabitants is to visit Chamorro Village Market. Come here on a Wednesday evening when the market is open and full of locals. Then you can see captivating dance performances, cultural presentations, and kid-friendly water buffalo rides that will make it a memorable event.
4. Mount Lamlam
Plan your active day in Guam and hike the island’s tallest mountain for stunning, endless views of the sparkling ocean waters. Follow a hiking trail, and it will take you about a 30-minute walk. Sunrise is the best time to get incredible views, so take your breakfast snacks with you and start your day with unforgettable emotions.
5. Apra Harbor
If you are a fan of diving, then you should book a trip to Apra Harbor during your stay in Guam, where 2 historic shipwrecks, a German vessel and the American SMS Cormoran, literally lie side by side.
What are the advantages of all-inclusive vacation packages in Guam?
When thinking about travelling to a new destination, it is wise to consider all-inclusive vacation packages. Some tourists will religiously choose them, year by year, all over the world, while others prefer to plan the daily activities by themselves. This flexibility might help to see the foreign country more deeply, especially in a shorter period. However, when you choose an all-inclusive package for your honeymoon, trip with a company of friends, or family vacation, you’ll have a range of advantages:
- You don’t have to worry where your credit card is: you pay one price for your vacation package and enjoy it for the rest of your trip.
- You won’t have any additional taxes counted or money spent: accommodations, food and drink (including alcohol), marine activities, sightseeing, and sometimes even more – will be included in the price of your vacation.
- Places like Guam are so well-designed for tourists that you feel like in paradise: the best beaches, central location, transfer to and from the airport included, shopping areas, and tropical gardens just a minute on foot.
- All-inclusive resorts are one of the best anti-stress decisions: you don’t have to think about anything while staying here. Choose a sun lounger in front of the pool, sit back and relax, grab a drink, and enjoy the best views on Tumon Bay you’ve ever seen.
- It can be a great fit when you travel with a big family or plan a company trip. All-inclusive resorts in Guam have everything to make your vacation unforgettable. Staying together at a resort gives everyone full freedom to relax and have fun while staying in the same confined space. You can spend as little or as much time together as you want to, and you can easily regroup for certain activities when needed.
- Depending on the time of the year and the resort you want to stay in, your all-inclusive vacation can also be very economical. If you book it in advance, you can always choose a better view, a better room, or a wider range of additional options available. There are very nice promotional offers on Guam resorts, as well as on all-inclusive St. Barthelemy vacations for low-seasonal months, so you’d better compare monthly prices before you plan your trip there. But as I mentioned before, remember to check the weather forecast. You won’t save on your vacation by staying inside your hotel room because it’s raining all the time. After all, vacation is all about relaxing and spending money on whatever you want.
